Remember when the world thought John Mayer was a little nuts? It all came down to his 2010 Rolling Stone interview where he gave us a little too much detail. Now, John Mayer is saying he regrets it. According to People.com:

“I had nothing to say – I was going through a time in my life where I didn’t really want to share what was going on, but I didn’t want to be boring,” Mayer tells Guy Raz on NPR’s All Things Considered, taped Friday in Philadelphia.

“I remember thinking to myself, ‘We gotta give a Rolling Stone interview … I don’t want anybody at Playboy to think this is a boring interview.’ I got those lines so crossed, that what you read – among other things, obviously – is this complete miscalculation in why I was asked to do the interview.”

At the time, Mayer revealed racy details of his relationship with Jessica Simpson to Playboy and told Rolling Stone that he hadn’t gotten over Jennifer Aniston.

This week he’s already been rumored to have reunited with Jennifer Aniston and yesterday it was Michelle Trachtenberg that John Mayer was linked with after the two were seen getting cozy at the SoHo house in LA. The actress’ rep insists the pair chatted for a mere five minutes, and the relationship is purely platonic.

The rep tells the New York Post, “They’ve known each other for years.”

The musician who usually craves fame, Mr. John Mayer was in a particularly camera shy mood as we snapped him leaving a private gym after working out and keeping his head down. When a celeb keeps their head down, it’s a classic sign they are trying to ruin the shot for one reason or another. This is unusual for John.

In the WTF news of the week, Taylor Swift and John Mayer were seen dining together at Nobu in New York. The two were careful to exit Nobu separately but were said to have sat alone in a booth by the window and chatted very intimately throughout the night.
