MSN.com reports on David’s milestone year of sobriety:
The 40-year-old actor tweeted on Friday about his milestone and thanked his family and friends for their unwavering support, reported Us magazine.

“Today marks 1 year of sobriety for me. I thank God for the strength and guidance and my family and friends for their love and support & I [thank you],” Arquette wrote.

Splitting from wife of 11 years Courteney Cox in October 2010, Arquette, father of Coco, 7, checked into rehab on January 2, 2011 after months of erratic behavior.

Seeking treatment for “alcohol and other issues,” the ”Scream” star later opened up to Oprah Winfrey about his drug-riddled past.

“When I had my first drink of beer, I must have been four-years-old,” he told Winfrey in February, adding that he also recalls stealing pot from his father at age 8.

“I was down in the basement with my dad and beer was there and I just grabbed it and drank it. And I remember that.
It”s one of my earliest memories.”
Now clean and sober, Arquette reasons that “life is beautiful.”
