He’s getting so big! Ashlee Simpson was seen toting around her son Bronx as they left their Soho Hotel today in NY (December 01). The 27-year-old singer was accompanied by her pregnant sister Jessica
Ashlee and hubby Pete Wentz split up earlier this year – but still share Bronx and are on good terms.

Actress, singer and fashion designer Jessica Simpson, her fiance Eric Johnson, Jessica Alba, Cash Warren, and Honor Warren walked around the Yale Campus for Eric and Cash’s 10th Reunion (Class of 2001) on June 4 in New Haven, Connecticut. The fivesome first ate lunch at Educated Burgher, then visited Beinecke Rare Book Libary, then visited Sterling Memorial Library, and finally returned to The Study Hotel. Then Jessica and Eric hopped in their car and Eric ran into Gag Jr.’s Liquor Shop to buy a bottle of wine before they disappeared down the street.

Nick Lachey goes for round two on the Bachelor party and this time, it was a little wild and crazy. According to US Magazine:

Nick Lachey had a little too much fun at his wedding shower with wife-to-be Vanessa Minnillo Sunday night.

Lachey, 37, and Minnillo, 30, were joined by friends and family at the London Hotel in West Hollywood for a celebration of their upcoming nuptials. “My liver is furious with me,” Lachey tweeted Monday afternoon. “Great time last night at our wedding shower. Thanks to everyone who came out.”
Guests at the couple’s fete included NFL quarterback Matt Leinart and former Dancing with the Stars champion Drew Lachey. “There was lots of mingling and Nick and Vanessa stayed close to each other most of the night,” an insider told Us Weekly. “They were holding hands and walking around greeting people. They both seemed very excited for the party and to spend the weekend with their closest friends.”
Lachey’s bride-to-be was more demure about the party. Monday night, Minnillo tweeted: “At home relaxing with my man. A beautiful end to a beautiful weekend. Life is good.”

Lachey was famously married to Jessica Simpson, 30, from 2002 to 2006. He and Minnillo began dating in 2007, and in November 2010, Lachey proposed in what he called his “greatest romantic effort ever.”

Jessica Simpson has made a thoroughly postmodern career of living her personal life for public consumption. One assumes she didn’t set out to do so, but even from the very start of her teen pop career, she was better known for her public declarations of virginity than for her music. (When’s the last time you spun “I Think I’m in Love With You” on the old iPod?) Then she finally hit superstardom as a reality star on MTV’s surprise hit Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica, and all bets were off. She was so watchable as her unvarnished self that even her god-given voice would never again be able to compete with the prospect of, say, hearing her debate the difference between chicken and fish.

Now, five years, a divorce from Nick Lachey, and countless tabloid covers later, her life still trumps her work. Case in point, her announcement this week that she’s engaged to her boyfriend of five months, ex-NFL player Eric Johnson. The woman, you must admit, has an uncanny knack for timing: Not only does the surprise betrothal come just as she’s releasing a Christmas album, but also a week after ex Lachey popped the question to his longtime love, Vanessa Minnillo. Gossip blog speculation has run predictably rampant, analyzing everything from whether she bought her own ruby engagement ring to whether she’s trying to beat Lachey to the altar to whether she’s headed for financial ruin for reportedly not wanting a prenup. I choose to believe in true love and thus hope for nothing but the best from Simpson’s impending union; but if cynics were right, and this were some kind of publicity move, it would be pretty brilliant. And it wouldn’t be the first brilliant PR move from her: She turned mean media scrutiny of her weight into several magazine cover stories about body image and even a VH1 documentary show, The Price of Beauty. She cemented the media-dating-industrial-complex of John Mayer. She convinced someone a line of edible beauty products was a good idea. She designs surprisingly great, affordable shoes.
The real question: Is there any chance for her entertainment career to reflect the same brilliance at this point? Could she ever be known for an actual body of work, given that her love life and personal struggles have overshadowed every attempt at acting (The Dukes of Hazzard, Blonde Ambition, Private Valentine) and recording she’s made? She’s beautiful, likable on camera, and full of vocal talent, so what could she do with all those qualities that would hold our attention as much as her choice in men and rings and high-waisted jeans does? I’d watch her in another reality show, no doubt — though that wouldn’t do much to pull her out of the mandatory-self-revelation vortex. I was glued to the TV when she was on Oprah a while back to promote The Price of Beauty: Could she be a contender for the young-talk-show-host seat now vacated by Tyra Banks? Maybe even on Oprah’s new network? Or she could go the Lauren Conrad route, writing best-sellers. Fictionalized versions of her life would be fun; advice-y books would be even better. Young marriage, dating bad boys, weight struggles are all fair game, and if there’s one thing she could truly write the book on, it’s how to make the most of fame.

Popeater Reports: Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo’s engagement news on Thursday came as a surprise for everyone except ex-wife Jessica Simpson, who knew the day would come when the man she let get away would propose to another woman.

“Even though Jessica wants to be happy for Nick, this is a very difficult time for her,” a friend of Simpson’s tells me. “Nick was the love of her life then, man, and he was her first, so she will always have a very special place in her heart for him. She’s deeply saddened.”

The happy couple told Us Weekly that they were excited and incredibly happy about their engagement and look forward to a wonderful future together. Classy Nick got down on one knee and popped the question with an Asscher-cut diamond.

It was merely months after his ugly divorce from Jessica that Nick and Vanessa started dating in 2006, and although they briefly separated last summer, they got back together very quickly.

“Nick knows what it’s like to lose someone that you love and wasn’t going to let it happen again,” a friend of the crooner tells me. “He never thought he would ever get married again after Jessica broke his heart. He never thought he would ever allow himself to be vulnerable again, but after dating for a long time he trusts Vanessa and knows she’s the girl he wants to spend the rest of his life with.”

A Simpson insider tells me Jessica has yet to contact Nick to say congrats, and that it’s possible it may stay that way for a while, for fear she may not come off as sincere.

“If you can’t say something nice, it’s better to say nothing at all.”

Jessica Simpson was lovely and as glamorous as she gets as she attended the Project Runway Finale Fashion Show, where she was the celebrity guest judge.

We had a source that called this one in recently after being at a resort with this singer (who has done a little acting here and there.) Apparently, our source saw the celeb at an all-inclusive resort and claims that the girl was pounding the alcohol down as fast as she could the entire time. She was constantly wasted, wore no underwear under her tiny sundress, and let strangers hit on her and grope her constantly. Classy! She allegedly never had a moment where there wasn’t a drink in her hand. Except for the time our source saw her giving an older mystery gentleman what we’ll call, um, ‘lip service’ in a public dining area. But you don’t really need two hands for that….
