Seventies Pop Culture

Last night there was a tribute concert for The Runaways at The Roxy in West Hollywood. Everyone came out of the woodwork for this one. Friends we had not seen in ages including Mike and Mario from the Rainbow Bar & Grill, the legendary producer Kim Fowley, Cherie and Marie Currie, Robert Hayes, Jake and our very own David Aguilera and Brad Elterman! The Bangles performed and Cherie did an incredible closing performance with Cherie Bomb. Enjoy the photos.

Saturday Afternoon In The Valley ‘ 77

Girl groups were all the rage in 1977. The biggest all girl band at the time was The Runaways with Joan Jett. The lead singer was Cherie Currie and we made a special trip all the way out to her house in Van Nuys to take some photos. Little did we know that she had a twin sister Marie, so we stuck her in the photo too. After shooting some fotos of the two of them together, Vicki Ronald Razor Blade showed up so we added her to the collection.

Music Life, the Japanese magazine who we were shooting the session for that day went bonkers when they saw triplicate blonds. Marie got a record deal with Nippon Phonogram and Vicki was signed by record legend, Kim Fowley. Everyone got signed to a deal and we took the fotos!
