Vintage Joey Ramone Paparazzi

Here is a blast from the Paparazzi past. Joey Ramone in the parking lot of a recording studio in Hollywood just after finishing up a recording session with Phil Spector. This was back in 1977, thirty years ago. We were with Joey and Phil all evening taking fotos and hanging out. The inside photos were chronicling an important era, but they were shots of Joey singing into a mike, which we find a bit dull.

This was the most interesting foto of the evening. Pure paparazzi style and now looking back, a real tear jerker.

Guess who? If you guessed Joey Ramone, you are correct.

These were the days. A paparazzo could hang out all evening with The Ramones and Phil Spector and watch the magic being created. Best of all is that we got to take fotos of all of this. Hey, we were all friends and no one gave a shit. There were certainly no press agents, managers or stylist hanging around. Oh yeah, there were also no other paparazzi out in the parking lot trying to get this exclusive foto. Today’s paparazzi were not even born yet!

Here’s Joey & Johnny Ramone in front of The Tropicana Motel in 1976. That’s Linda Ramone on the far right too. What a hot babe! There were regulars there whenever they were in Tinseltown. Hollywood was so effortlessly cool back then. What the hell in the name of Hollywood happened?
