ELVIS RIP

Buzz Foto photographer, Brad Elterman did this iconic photograph at Elvis’s funeral 30 years ago this week in Memphis. Elvis was a god and almost impossible to get photographs of him since he never really went out much in public. He was bigger that Paris, Lindsay and Britney all combined. We never laid eyes on Elvis while he was alive and shooting the funeral was a challenge. The Enquirer flew in a Swat Team of photographers and journalists to get the story and eventually got the classic photo of Elvis in the box.

Today this photograph is a collectors item and has sold in galleries worldwide. It hangs today at the Next Model Management office in Beverly Hills and at Gallerie Thoma in Basel, Switzerland for current exhibitions. You can not make an inconic image everyday, but when you do, you better not sell off the rights to your photos. The week that this photograph was made on assignment for Bunte in Germany, it was syndicated to magazines around the world and was picked up in over twenty countries.
