Bob Dylan’s Secret In The Garden

You think you’re neighbors are trouble? Try living next to Bob Dylan! Sources are reporting that a Malibu couple is accusing their neighbor, Bob Dylan of having an unusual landscaping fixture- a porta-potty!!!
In a letter to the editor published by the Malibu Surfside News, Cindy and Dave Emminger publicly complained that the City of Malibu has been unable to help them solve the problem.
The couple accused Dylan of “renting a toxic, hazardous, carcinogenic chemical toilet” and “plopping it down” next to their home, in a rural section of the city overlooking the ocean.
“This toilet is apparently intended by my neighbor, Bob Dylan, to be a permanent fixture on his property,” the couple complained. They said the city’s code enforcement staff has been unable to force its removal.
A spokesman for Dylan and his Grey Water Park Productions was not available Sunday, and the City of Malibu routinely refuses comment on specific code enforcement issues.
Bob has made Malibu his home for years and we have an ariel view of his lot!

The Day We Shook The Hand Of Bob Dylan

Back in 1976 our friend Ronee Blakley was playing at The Roxy on The Sunset Strip. The set was amazing and after the show we were all invited backstage to hang out and party.

Out of the blue Ronee came cover and introduces us to Bob Dylan! Can you believe it! Ronee knew that Dylan was our hero and she made a special point of making the introduction. Maybe she also wanted a foto!

The handshake from Dylan was a bit of a let down to tell you the truth. It was moist and very limp and we still remember it today. He joked that we looked like twins and then he began to orchestrate an amazing group foto that included him with Ronee, David Blue, Sally Kirkland, Martine Getty and a new young actor named Robert De Niro who could not believe his good fortune that evening.

Back then photographs of Dylan offstage were incredibly rare and he did not have on his classic sunglasses and that made the photo even more marketable. People Magazine and Rolling Stone ran this shot and the rest is history.

Incredible how one foto can change your life & career forever!

Where Did Buzz Foto Come From?

No one can figure out where we came from. On the surface, it appears that B.F. just came out of nowhere and that is not the case. It is the the partnership of a couple of photographers with decades of experience in the industry.

We adore this industry, but we only play by the rules. The motivation is all about the photo, the art and making that iconic image and that is all very unique in today in the industry.

A celebrity mentioned to us recently that paparazzi are just a bunch of “bottom feeders” and we took great offensive to that statement. We are part of the celebrity process and more important today than ever.

If anyone thinks that Buzz Foto is the new kid on the block, guess again. We did not see anyone else around when we made this iconic photo of Bob Dylan arriving at a Santa Monica recording studio in 1977.

Consider us for paparazzi management and remember, the number one rule in this great business is to never sell out your copyright! You are the artist and be proud of your work. Enjoy this beautiful weekend!

The Original Teenage Paparazzo

No matter what anyone says, we were the original teenage paparazzo. We were given that my by the late and dear friend Michelle Meyer. Michelle was the queen of the Sunset Strip back in the seventies and she controlled all of the VIP guest lists of everything happening from the Roxy to the Starwood.

We had this incredible teenage obsession with Boby Dylan. Dylan was a god and a very controversial performer. Most importantly was that he was a major recluse and hated to have his foto taken. That made the job of finding him and taking his photograph all the more interesting and changeling.

This set of fotos were taken around 1978 outside a recoding studio in Santa Monica. We made a pile of these shots. Probably about five hundred bucks and back then, that was a small fortune. Enjoy!

The Two Roberts 1976

It is a slow Thanksgiving weekend so we want to share with you some Paparazzi photos from the Seventies. There is no better way to spend your weekend then dreaming about the Seventies.

This was the scene backstage at The Roxy in 1976 with Bob Dylan meeting for the very first time, Robert DeNiro. Dylan heard that De Niro was downstairs in the crowd and he specifically asked Sally Kirkland to drag up De Niro for a meeting.

Yep, we were there to take the foto!

Bob Dylan, Robert De Niro & Buzz Foto 1976

Ah, we remember taking this photo like it was yesterday. We were invited to Ronee Blakley’s showcase at The Roxy in the fall of 1976 and out of the blue after her set, Bob Dylan arrives backstage. Dylan was the Howard Hughes of Rock N’ Roll for the photo market and his photos were rare and extremely marketable. We were all upstairs having a great time partying when Sally Kirkland tells Bob that Robert DeNiro is downstairs and at Bobby’s command she heads downstairs to inform DeNiro that he is wanted upstairs for a personal meeting with Dylan. DeNiro does not believe his ears and heads upstairs and poses for a set of iconic photographs that end up gracing the pages of People Mag the following week. It is incredible how you can make a 30 year career on a set of photographs which put you on the map. You can do it too! Let us show you how!

Buzz Foto Snapped This Backstage at The Roxy in 1976 — ONE OF THE BEST PHOTOS EVER!!!

Bob Dylan was never out on the town back during the late seventies. He was kind of like the Howard Hughes of Rock and Roll and photos of him were rare. If you did see him, he would not pose and he always had his sunglasses on. This was shot backstage at a Ronee Blakley concert at The Roxy and De Niro was a new actor who just came out in “Taxi Driver.” Dylan was backstage after the show and got wind that De Niro was there so he sent Sally Kirkland downstairs to get De Niro up to meet Bob. According to Kirkland, she told De Niro that Bob Dylan wanted to meet him and De Niro did not believe her at first. Buzz Foto captured the moment and the photo was published around the word.” WHAT A MOMENT AND WHAT A PHOTO. DE NIRO IS AN ACTING GOD AND HE HAS A GREAT SMILE! WHO KNEW?!!?
