Could Saoirse Ronan’s Fame Someday Eclipse Kristen Stewart’s?
Above Kristen Stewart poses with Dakota Fanning for The Runaways Premiere
By Hannah
Four years ago, Kristen Stewart was cast as Bella Swan in Twilight. Just seventeen years old at the time, Stewart rocketed to stardom nearly overnight. Stewart was largely unknown before landing the role, despite beginning to act as a child. By early adolescence her work had received praise from critics and nominations for awards. She continued to add to her filmography with smaller and independent films. Now a household name, Stewart is translating the role that made her famous into a Hollywood presence that many twice her age would envy.
Accomplishing so much at such a young age might be rare, but history may be about to repeat itself. Saoirse Ronan is seventeen years old and was recently cast as the lead in The Host, an adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s non-Twilight novel. Her name is already familiar to many. She attracted attention (and several awards nominations) as an adolescent for her realistic performance in Atonement. Since then, Ronan has starred in several films, acting alongside the likes of Cate Blanchett, Susan Sarandon, Mark Whalberg, and Bill Murray. Costars and critics alike have enthusiastically endorsed her acting chops.
The notoriously avid fans of Twilight made The Host a bestseller. If they can translate that into box office success then Saoirse Ronan might well be on the fast track to becoming a superstar. Perhaps she should call Kristen Stewart for advice?

Rashida Jones: Brains to Back it Up
You can add “smart” to “funny” and “gorgeous”, as characteristics that describe actress Rashida Jones, who plays Ann Perkins on “Parks and Recreation”. Born to actress Peggy Lipton and media mogul Quincy Jones, Rashida is part Jewish, part African-American. Rashida graduated from Harvard with a degree in religion and philosophy, and is currently practicing Judaism. She is a screen writer and creator of the comic book series “Frenemy of the State”.
She’s said about her college years that sometimes she didn’t feel “black enough” to be accepted by her peers. Earlier she had caused a little bit of a stir when she openly responded to negative remarks made by Tupac Shakur about her parents’ interracial marriage. Rashida and Tupac later became friends. He was engaged to Rashida’s older sister Kidada when he was killed.
Rashida was recognized recently as a 2011 Influential Multi Racial Public Figure runner up, and has been heavily involved in multiple charities and non-profit organizations, such as Peace First, St. Jude’s Children’s hospital, and Stand up to cancer.
