Four years ago, Kristen Stewart was cast as Bella Swan in Twilight. Just seventeen years old at the time, Stewart rocketed to stardom nearly overnight. Stewart was largely unknown before landing the role, despite beginning to act as a child. By early adolescence her work had received praise from critics and nominations for awards. She continued to add to her filmography with smaller and independent films. Now a household name, Stewart is translating the role that made her famous into a Hollywood presence that many twice her age would envy.

Accomplishing so much at such a young age might be rare, but history may be about to repeat itself. Saoirse Ronan is seventeen years old and was recently cast as the lead in The Host, an adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s non-Twilight novel. Her name is already familiar to many. She attracted attention (and several awards nominations) as an adolescent for her realistic performance in Atonement. Since then, Ronan has starred in several films, acting alongside the likes of Cate Blanchett, Susan Sarandon, Mark Whalberg, and Bill Murray. Costars and critics alike have enthusiastically endorsed her acting chops.

The notoriously avid fans of Twilight made The Host a bestseller. If they can translate that into box office success then Saoirse Ronan might well be on the fast track to becoming a superstar. Perhaps she should call Kristen Stewart for advice?
