In the seventies if you wanted to make some good quick cash, you would take photos of Jackie Onassis. She was so elegant and more importantly she was the widow of John F. Kennedy. There was so much drama in the media when she married Onassis and every photo you took of her translated into dollars. I only photographed Jackie once in downtown L.A in 1976. That’s my dear friend paprazzo Ron Galella with the tape measure standing next to Jackie. He had this restraining order from the courts in New York to stay at least 25’ away from her so he wanted to make sure that he didn’t get too close. She seems amused by the whole thing while smiling right into my little camera!! Enjoy this stunning summer of 2011.
