Lauren Conrad Launches New Web Site
The Beauty Department
She explains her reason in a recent press release:
“Growing up, I never really learned how to do my hair and makeup correctly and the results weren’t always great. Our goal with The Beauty Department is to provide girls and young women with a basic how-to of simplified versions of popular trends and styles that they can recreate themselves.”
The new site gives hair and makeup tips, as well as health-related beauty topics, like sun protection. Fans and readers can send in questions and Conrad is going to do her best to answer them herself!

Cursing is good For Your Health

Hey kids, here’s a good lesson to remember if you ever get hurt: Swearing helps! Not only is saying those naughty words kinda fun, it’s also a painkiller!
Gawker.com Reports:
Scientists at Keele University had test subjects dunk their hands in a bucket of ice water—once while swearing and once while “repeating a harmless phrase.” Since the subjects were able to keep their hands in the bucket for longer while swearing, the researchers say, there seems to be “a link between swearing and an increase in pain tolerance.”
One possible explanation is that swearing “triggers the ‘fight or flight’ response,” raising the heart rate and numbing pain. Interestingly, people who don’t normally use bad language (the scientific term for these people is “prudes and nerds”) felt the painkilling effect of curse words at a higher rate than people who curse regularly.

Alien Corpse Found in Russia
Recorded by a pair of supposed Russians earlier this month, the two say very little as the minute and a half video pans along the snow-covered countryside before settling on the alleged being from another world.
The alien is missing a leg and features large black eyes, a light bulb-shaped head and thin arms and legs. Its appearance resembles something out of Steven Spielberg’s 1977 classic, “Close Encounters of the Third Kind.”
The video follows a report from a Russian-language news agency claiming residents saw an unidentified flying object crash in the same area.
Hoax videos claiming to show aliens or alien corpses have become fairly common in the last decade.
