Audrina Patridge is no longer playing second fiddle to Lauren Conrad on “The Hills.”
The buxom brunette, known for sporting skimpy bikinis and dating naughty boys during her run on the popular MTV show, now has her own “reality” TV drama premiering tonight at 9 on VH1.
“‘The Hills’ was more about our friendships with each other, and our relationships,” Audrina told the Track. “This is about my journey.”
And let’s recap it, shall we?
At 19, Audrina, who hails from the O.C., moved to Los Angeles with big dreams of making it as an actress and model.
“Adam (Divello, creator of ‘The Hills’) came up to me when I was lying by the pool at the villas,” Aud said. “He was there scouting apartments for Lauren and Heidi (Montag).”
Soon enough, her acting aspirations were put on hold as she became a reality star. Then came the on-air cat fights and romantic throwdowns with her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Justin Bobby. (She kicked him to the curb a few years ago, and she’s now dating polo player Nic Roldan, who lives on the East Coast. So that’s a problem, she said.)
“But we do enjoy each other’s company,” she added.
Viewers realized Audrina may not be the only reality star in the family after a video surfaced of Patridge’s mom, Lynn, railing to the paparazzi — after a few cocktails — about her daughter getting the boot from “Dancing With the Stars,” as well as “those ‘Hills’ tramps.”
The curse-filled vid may have given VH1 producers an idea: What if Audrina appears on a reality show with her boisterous family?
So joining her tonight will be her parents, as well as a trio of younger siblings, including her dirt-biker brother Mark, teenage sweetie Samantha and “the black sheep of the family,” her rebellious sister Casey.
Married with two children, Casey is the source of some darker moments on the show, including some serious brawls with mama bear Lynn.
But can the lifelong California chick guarantee her family will bring the trademark reality TV controversy to the table this time around?
“My mom has no filter. She is really East Coast,” Audrina said. “She’s from Detroit.”
