Pringles: The Best Designed Chip You Never Thought About

First sold in the U.S. in 1968, and patented by an Ohio native, the chip’s aerodynamic design is actually a mathematical shape called a hyperbolic paraboloid. The engineering process is enhanced by supercomputers to make each chip uniform as well as augmenting them to prevent them from flying off the production line in the factory.
The snack’s highly recognizable tube was designed by Fredric J. Baur, who loved his creation so much that he asked his family to place part of his cremated remains in a tube and bury that in his grave. Talk about dedicating your life to your work.

Steve Jobs Rejects Radiation Monitoring iPhone App

The radiation scare in Japan is creating all kinds of coping mechanisms for people.
iPhone apps are rejected from Apple’s App Store all the time, but it looks like one has now been rejected personally by Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs, the app in question is a so called radiation monitoring app, from a company called Tawkon.
It looks like Tawkon tried to capatilize on the recent tragedy in Japan with this app, and Steve Jobs has obviously reviewed the ap himself as he has told the company behind it that Apple has ‘no interest’ in publishing it.
It looks like the developers of the radiation app will be adding it to the Cydia store instead, personally we think the app is in poor taste and they shouldn’t be trying to cash in on the disaster in Japan.
