Heidi and Spencer Admit to Sham Divorce
The couple, who are set to file for bankruptcy after squandering $10 million, confessed that the whole divorce thing was just a plan to stay relevant in the tabloids. After learning that the MTV reality show would not be renewed this year, they planned to divorce shortly after their anniversary.
They told Life & Style that there was an interest in a series to cover their split from British TV network ITV so they tried to make it all happen in Costa Rica. But after the deal fell through, they called off the divorce proceedings and publicly burned their divorce request papers.
It wasn’t really a surprise as people already speculated that Heidi and Spencer were desperate enough to stay on the limelight. Even when Heidi filed the divorce papers and posed for the cameras to show how sad she was, there were already talks that it was all a stunt.
Spencer told the magazine, “The divorce was real – just the idea behind it was different than most people’s. Divorcing was the only way to keep Heidi’s career going because everyone hated me so much.”
“Look at Sandra Bullock – her divorce from Jesse James was the best thing to happen to her image.”
Actually, Spencer is a little off in comparing Heidi to Sandra. Sandra’s image was already faultless even before James’ cheating spree was made public. She was garnering awards left and right, and has numerous projects lined up before and after the scandal; whereas the impact of Spencer and Heidi’s so-called divorce didn’t even register a notch on Heidi’s career.
But while his estimation of their popularity is off the mark, he admits that no one wants to see him on TV.
“I can’t make regular money because I was playing such an unlikable character on TV to keep my checks coming. Who wants to hire the jerk from The Hills?”

’127 Hours’ Causes Fainting, Vomiting, Seizures
’127 Hours’ has gotten audiences fainting, vomiting and worse in numbers unseen since ‘The Exorcist’ – and the movie has not even hit theaters yet.
James Franco plays real-life rock climber Aron Ralston who made headlines when he resorted to self-amputation to free himself from a boulder that pinned his arm to a canyon wall for five days in 2003.
The scene has caused viewers numerous physical reactions, and Movieline.com has put together a time line. Here’s what happened at just one screening:
“Oct. 28 – London Film Festival
A report in The Sun claimed that “[h]orrified film fans threw up and fainted at the premiere of Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle’s shocking new movie,” which closed the London Film Festival last week. The bad news: As you might expect from The Sun, the specific number and nature of the cases was not determined. There is this, though: “Boyle looked on as paramedics treated fans struggling to cope with gruesome scenes.” And the person sitting near Daily Mail reviewer Chris Tookey “left just after the most gruesome bit and never came back,” apparently rebuking “the most harrowing bone-breaking and amputation scene in the history of cinema.”
