After taking a day off from big budget comedies (actually, it was more like four years), Matthew Broderick has signed on to join Tower Heist, a robbery comedy that boasts the biggest cast this side of the Ocean’s franchise. Ben Stiller, Eddie Murphy, Alan Alda, Gabourey Sidibe, and Téa Leoni are all on board for the Brett Ratner-directed pic about a Madoff-style swindler (Alda) targeted by a group of New Yorkers who lost their money to his scheme. Broderick will play a Wall Street-er who got cleaned out — and presumably wants revenge.

While we can’t organize a Ferris Bueller-style parade to celebrate his return, we can say this: Welcome back, Matthew! We know you’ve been plenty busy in the past few years on screens big and small, not to mention your constant devotion to the New York theater world. (Oh, and then there’s the missus and the kids.) But the multiplex has missed you. And now that you’re here again, please, don’t be a stranger.
