Here are some great shots of Salma Hayek’s amazing Beverly Hills home! This is the home that hosted the infamous bash the last week of January. What? You didn’t hear about the party? Let’s give you all the juicy details!

Salma Hayek and Harvey Weinstein through the event in honor of Penelope Cruz after her Oscar nomination for “Vicky Cristina Barcelona.” A laundry list of stars appeared to share in the celebration including Scarlett Johansson and new husband Ryan Reynolds. Also in attendance were Ashton and Demi, Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones, Antonio Banderas with Melanie Griffith, Charlize Theron and partner Stuart Townsend, Angela Bassett and her husband Courtney.
The New York Daily News reported:

“It was all celebs, with 1% normal people,” laughed one reveler. “Everyone’s eyes were riveted to the door, wondering who would come in next.”

Hayek greeted guests with daughter Valentina, 16 months old, on her hip. “Everyone gushed about how beautiful she is,” said our source. “Salma was so proud.”

The theme for the evening was inspired by the “Vicky” flick. Hayek’s house was decked out as a photographer’s darkroom/studio, with pictures of Cruz strung from wires across the walls. Aaron Eckhart, Eva Mendes, Adrien Brody, Drew Barrymore and others in the crowd milled about, captivated
by the images.

In one room, “Demi and Ashton huddled together for most of the night, but Ashton eventually broke off and was engrossed with Quincy Jones in the corner,” our spy reports. “I wouldn’t be surprised if they announced a joint project in six months, after their intense conversation.”

Johansson shocked the 100 or so guests with her “deeply dyed red hair,” our spy dishes. “She told friends it was for an upcoming role, but people were still doing double takes.”

Meanwhile, a soda-sipping Colin Farrell, sporting a shaved head for similar reasons, headed upstairs with Hayak to help put Valentina to bed. And since rock star Prince was milling about, some guests were buzzing that he’d be performing on the grand piano in Hayek’s living room. But the Purple One never touched the keys. Instead, he opted for a chat with Weinstein, co-chair of the company that produced “Vicky.”

“Harvey was holding court in the middle of the room. Everyone was congratulating him on all his Oscar nods. Even Catherine Zeta Jones snuck up behind him and surprised him with a hug! He was getting a lot of praise for ‘The Reader,’ too,” said our spy.

The evening’s funniest moment? When Brett Ratner’s “slick blond date” kept accidentally dimming the lights by leaning on them. Snickered our source: “Brett and his girl were too busy putting their hands on each other to notice they almost shut off the lights!”
