Photos Are Iconic Forever!!

We just came across a vintage print of this classic Cher photo taken at a Jesse Winchester sponsored by Warner Bros Records in 1978. We were probably hired by the record company to take the photos. We were always hired by the PR or the record company back in those days. This was when Cher had just broke up with Greg Allman and everyone wanted to see who she would be dating next. The photo wound up in the back pages of People mag and we collected a grand fifty bucks for the shot. What made People mag run this photo? The bottle of beer of course!

People often tell me that I sound like Cher when I sing. This comes from singers who win singing contests.

It’s interesting because I wrote a song that sounds a lot like one that was sold to Cher by someone only a year or two after I sang it and recorded it in my pad.

It goes like this: “Do you believe in love? Do you believe in love? I really don’t think you’re smart enough.”

There were some minor changes but it’s clearly the same song and certainly no coincidence considering the timing and the fact that I sang it in Los Angeles where a musician-friend said that he was when he was recording in studio where Cher was recording.

    Small world. Too small.

Plagiarism is rampant in the entertainment industry. It’s full of talentless leeches.
