The Voice Of Elphaba
If you know you’re musical theatre, then you are pretty likely to recognize this face. This is the multi-talented Idina Menzel, the Tony-award winning actress that played Elphaba in Wicked and Maureen in Rent. We got this EXCLUSIVE foto of her as she departed the Mandarin Hotel in New York City after attending the Trevor Project Gala. She seemed a little taken off guard by the sight of our cameras. Maybe she saw a witch behind us!

When a friend of mine found out that Idina was married to Taye, she thought Idina was a lucky girl. But when my friend saw Idina in Wicked, she changed her mind and said that Taye was the lucky one

They seem like such a random couple — Taye and Idina. Love is love though.

Not completely random… they were in Rent together.
She looks so surprised but still, she looks good for being caught off guard.
I know they were in Rent together. He just seems so high maintenance and she seems real laid back cool. Like complete opposite in personality.
Its like what in the world do they have in common besides theater? And this isn’t a diss. They clearly work well and are in love because 12 years is a long time to be with someone.

And in regards to the Taye and Idina discussion, I kind of know what you mean about them being a random couple, but the more you find out about them the more you realise how perfectly they go together.
There’s a couple of Taye TV interviews where he talks about her or they are both there, and I’ve read a couple of written ones with them both together. They just compliment each others style so much, it’s fantastic!!!
