The Art Of Being A Good Foto Editor

We do not want to brag, but we are excellent foto editors. We have been around the block for years and we know a good photograph when we see one. Have you ever watched a presidential press conference and everyone is getting the same boring foto of of Bush with the microphone stuck in front of his face? All of a sudden, he scratches his nose or picks up a glass of water and you hear thousands of photos sending snapped. That is the action of real photojournalists trying to get a photograph that is interesting and exciting for the evening newspaper. No one cares about Bush with his presidential microphone. The photograph is boring.

That photojournalist approach is what drove Mr. Porter to make this wonderful photograph of Heidi Mongtag yesterday at Kitson. The media was invited to promote her clothing line, however the name of the collection skips our mind now. Normally we do not cover these cattle call events unless we are pals with the PR or it is something incredibly special. What we are all about capturing a moment and not promoting clothing lines, new films, TV shows, lunch pails or anything else. We are about making iconic photographs that will be remembered for decades!
