NO FOTOS UNLESS YOU ARE WITH THE DAILY STAR!

The London Daily Star is kind of a tacky British tabloid. We love them and have sold them tons of photos over the years. Take a close look at this photo taken today at LAX with Victoria Beckham look-alike, Chanelle Hayes from the British TV show Celebrity Big Brother. Well this was not a coincidence that she is holding a copy of a Daily Star. What this probably means is that The Daily Star flew her to Los Angeles and paid her a nice fee to run about town posing for them exclusively. Clearly they do not want any of the other British papers to blow their exclusive and she shoved the newspaper in the face of every photographer today. This is one of the oldest tricks in the book. Any photographer who thinks that this photo will be sold all over England is clearly mistaken. No publication is the UK except for The Daily Star will publish this photograph. None of the photographers knew this trick except, Mr. Nunez and he cropped out the newspaper in all of his shots except for this one and concentrated on taking head shots.

There is still tons of money to be made in the UK market, but you need the right celebrity and the photos must be exclusive. We sold our first photo in the UK around 1975 to the Daily Mirror. It was a photo of David Cassidy and the photo editor was Len Greener. Funny how we still remember all these facts decades later.
