Bob Dylan, Robert De Niro & Buzz Foto 1976

Ah, we remember taking this photo like it was yesterday. We were invited to Ronee Blakley’s showcase at The Roxy in the fall of 1976 and out of the blue after her set, Bob Dylan arrives backstage. Dylan was the Howard Hughes of Rock N’ Roll for the photo market and his photos were rare and extremely marketable. We were all upstairs having a great time partying when Sally Kirkland tells Bob that Robert DeNiro is downstairs and at Bobby’s command she heads downstairs to inform DeNiro that he is wanted upstairs for a personal meeting with Dylan. DeNiro does not believe his ears and heads upstairs and poses for a set of iconic photographs that end up gracing the pages of People Mag the following week.
